The Olympics! 2.8.08 The Olympics is coming up in 6 days so today me, mum and dad went to the Square to meet Anno and her mum there. It was so fun when we got there. We signed our names on this big white cloth with the five rings of the Olympics and with other people¡¯s sign and some words. I wrote my signature and wrote ¡°¼ÓÓÍ!¡± It means don¡¯t give up and be strong. Mum and dad did their signatures under my words. Just then a man called Robbin [my dad¡¯s friend] asked me if I wanted to be in one of the fuwa costumes. Mum encouraged me to do the job. So I did. I shoved into the air costume and before I did that, I put on a heavy bag with a oxygen pump so I could breathe inside. Anyway, dad helped with the costume. He zipped it. And before he did that, Robbin put the oxygen pump into a hole. Then once I was in the costume, all zipped up, Robbin stuck through a switch. He already switched it on. So the costume could inflate. I was Bei Bei. Anno was in a costume as well. She was Jing Jing. I took photos with people I don¡¯t know. There were three holes to peep through; the eyes. And this little hole at the bottom. After awhile I was hot and sweaty. The bag was heavy. I carefully took off my jersey. I put it in one of the arms. People were amazed that I was in the costume. I shook hands and took photos with other people in the costumes. Anno already gone home. Too bad. Dad took me for a walk. Of course in my costume. I did lots of things. Too much things! I got out for a rest. After awhile I had to go to piano lesson. My teacher is Mrs Tapper. She is really funny and caring. She¡¯s a good teacher. After piano lesson I was sooo hungry and my parents were late picking me up. Then we went to Mcdonald¡¯s. Dad bought 5 happy meals for each person in the family. Mostly he wants to collect all the five Olympic fuwa toys. But unfortunately we were told that there was only one kind available today. When I got all the toys out of the happy meal bags I found out that I had one Bei Bei and four Jing Jing. I¡¯m going to share one of the Jing Jing to Anno because she was in the Jing Jing costume today. And I will keep the Bei Bei for myself because I was in the Bei Bei costume. This was the best day EVER!
