significant to have something royal and special for memory of the
milestone.
We will display a huge white fabric for signature, and photo exhibition
etc.

Introduction: Dragon Sky is a multi-media performance, which creates a
completely innovative format to show immigration history of Chinese
migrants in New Zealand. The show is made up of various components, such
as photos, pictures, videos, music, and instrument plays. Dragon Sky
utilizes multimedia means to build up some kind of historic atmosphere
that brings each attendee to go back to the foretime. During the
performance, attendee seems catch a time-train to look through the
history of NZ-Chinese migrants from gold miners to contemporary people.
Performers manage to present an unforgettable evening show.
The event consists of supper and performance. In fact, the supper is a
special start of the performance. Performers will be real waiter and
waitress on site to guide each attendee to the show. Then they will
provide entertainment during the serve. The venue will be decorated with
historic props and extraordinary equipment or tools. The show will start
as soon as audience finish dinner and some of performers will lead each
one to another place with holding a traditional lantern.

Introduction: Chinese Race Day is a completely creative concept conceived by
Canterbury Jockey Club (CJC) and Chinese Culture Association (CCA) for
promoting sporting culture of horse racing into local Chinese community
as a popular public activity. The knowledge, the format and the
programmes about race days will become common sense and highly
recognised by Chinese residents in Christchurch after the event. 2008
Chinese Race Day (CCRD) is the second Chinese race day held in
Canterbury region and based on the success of Christchurch Chinese Race
Day 2007. The organisers aim to build up a platform to bring more and
more Chinese to the mainstream society by being involved in the race
day. The event will also encourage Chinese to promote their own during
the programmes so that more local kiwis get opportunity to know more of
Chinese culture and tradition. The organisers will utilise the event to
deliver the awareness and understanding of horse racing to all attendees
and make sure not only Chinese people but also local kiwis will treat
the race day as a significant ongoing event to actively participate in.
Programme:

As the second Chinese race day,
organizers will use a great diversity of methods to attract Chinese
and local residents. There will be a combined format to highlight
the features of horse racing and Chinese culture.

Organise Chinese performance and
entertainment in each gap of horse racing. Roughly 10 performance as

Set up VIP room for Chinese VIP,
arrange MC/expert to introduce horse racing process and give tips
before each race

Show time from leading Chinese
calligraphers. They will present extempore calligraphy as
entertainment. Their works will be given to VIP/Sponsors/Lucky
audience as gifts

Fly Kites. Organizers will arrange
numbers of kites to fly into air. One of kites is 100 metres long.
An open ceremony for kite fly will be held. This whole programme
will become a highlight of the event.
