Dream

Scene One

Story: Three Chinese boys come to New Zealand as international students. They are Huo, Qian and Hao. They arrive at the international airport early or late and have a bit bust-up with each other at the beginning. After making conversations, they start enjoying each other and find out some common interest, then finally becoming friends.

Scene Two

6 Months Later

One night, Huo and Qian who have become good friends met in a restaurant. Huo complained about Qian being late and also satirized Qian is a fainéant as he comes from a very rich family. Qian is angry with Huo’s attitude as he originally planned to invite Huo having a nice dinner in order to improve Huo’s diet. Huo was moved after he knew Qian’s favor. Lin is a waitress of the restaurant. Qian and Huo had both been attracted by Lin’s beauty and personality. After the dinner, Qian and Huo both fell in love with Lin.

Scene Three

Hao met a girl whose name is XiaoYu’er. Hao always think that he is a bad guy and tried to do something bad, but never succeeded. XiaoYu’er had cognizance of Hao’s characteristically goodness and decided to help Hao change his thought. Hao was affected by XiaoYu’er and started to realize that he could be a good person.

Scene Four

Huo’s flat was just beside Lin’s. Lin loved singing. She sang songs every night at home. Huo often slinking listen to her lovely singing. One night, Huo decided to let Lin know his feeling and tried to express his love to Lin. When Huo was guessing Lin’s reaction, Hao (Huo’s rommmate) did the expression for him. Lin accepted it and invited Huo to watch her singing next day.

Scene Five

One night, Qian was drunk at street side and seen by Lin who was on the way home. Qian told Lin that he had fell in love with her. Lin thought he was talking nonsense. Lin advised Qian that he should study hard and build up his life goal. Qian asked Lin for help, Lin took it. Hao and XiaoYu’er passed by and misunderstood Lin was plied by some bad guy. Hao rushed to beat Qian. Then, find out it was a false alarm.

Scene Six

Lin’s family was not able to financially support Lin’s study as her father’s company has been in trouble. Lin was desperate and told Huo she had to stop study and go home. Huo was extremely upset and tried to find the way to solve the lurch, but nothing he could be able to do. Lin did not want Huo to be concerned about her. She decided to leave New Zealand and go home. Huo was feeling very sad about Lin’s leave. Hao and XiaoYu’er came to visit Huo. They were working out how to help Lin. XiaoYu’er let slip that if Lin’s boyfriend was a rich person. Huo suddenly thought about Qian and decided to help Qian become Lin’s boyfriend although he was extremely painful about the decision. Huo asked Hao and XiaoYu’er for making the plan which would make a trap to bring Lin and Qian together.

Scene Seven

Qian immediately agreed to lend money to Lin when he heard the story from Hao and XiaoYu’er. Hao suggested that Qian should personally give the check to Lin. In a park, Lin was told by Hao and XiaoYu’er somebody could help her solve the problem. When Lin realized the person was Qian, she refused to take the check. Qian was upset by Lin’s refusal and abruptly cuddled Lin. Huo suddenly appear and blamed Lin had other lover. Huo asked for break-up. Lin cried and ran away.

Scene Eight

Lin accepted Qian’s help and carry on the study in New Zealand. Lin treated Qian as a good friend and persuaded him to be a person who should earn his own living, not just getting money from parents. Qian realized Lin was right and finally changed his life style and some bad behaviors becoming a good student.

Scene Nine

Hao was slinkingly following XiaoYu’er in order to protect her. XiaoYu’er did not realize Hao had been fallen in love with her. Hao finally expresses his feeling. XiaoYu’er told Hao she would like to keep the friendship. Then, maybe one day, the friendship could become love.  

Scene Ten

Middle Autumn Festival

Huo, Lin, Qian, Hao, XiaoYu’er were having a party in park for celebrating the traditional event. Huo met Lin again and both found out they still love each other deeply. Qian had become a good student. And Hao and XiaoYu’er were also getting closer and closer. Everything has been on the right track. They drinking, laughing, greeting, then they thought of their parents in this particular time. They all realize their parents had become the strongest support behind them. Without the support, they were not able to be here. Qian decided to make a greeting to his parent by phone, then others did so.

The play was finished by a song, which is particularly written for parents--call “A letter to family”!
